BMW New Models in Make – All Ready to take the Market by Storm

BMW seems like celebrating its century in the huge world of automobile for the complete year as the company has recently made few announcements about its upcoming products catering to different segments. Soon after revealing the names of the 3 upcoming models of the popular i-series, namely BMW i3, the i8 Roadster & the i NEXT, the company unveils its plan for the next model in the X-series – the X7 and now the company has made it official that it is working on a new range of luxury vehicles that will be in direct competition with the likes of Mercedes-Benz Maybach.

Coming back to i-Series, the German automaker is planning to launch these models separately as all the models are designed and developed using different technologies. BMW i8 Roadster is rumored to get launched in the year 2018 as its version was showcased at the CES 2016. The car will share the same engine specifications as that of its elder brother, the i8 Coupe. The latter comes with a 1.5-liter powertrain working in tandem with the electric mill that in combination churns out a maximum power of 357bhp. The electric mill gives the car that required boost necessary for a driver to get the feel of a sportscar. BMW i8 Coupe can cover a mark of 0-100Kmph in just 4.4 seconds.

On the other hand, the new i3 model will be a revamped one containing 50% more efficient batteries. Whereas nothing much is revealed about the BMW i NEXT except for the fact that it will see the light of reality in the year 2020.

Taking more share of the auto news section, BMW has also given the confirmation about its X7 SUV being in the developmental stage at its Annual Press Conference 2016. It will enjoy the honor of being the flagship utility vehicle that will be placed above the BMW X6. According to the trusted sources, the X7 is under development since 2013 and is being developed by the joint efforts of BMW and Rolls-Royce – the ultra luxury subsidiary of BMW. The car will be based on the RWD platform used in the latest 7-series model. Though nothing much has been revealed about the specs and features list, it is surely to have 5-seat and 7-seat configuration.

BMW is also working on a new high-end range of luxury cars that will be placed above the current flagship line-up – the 7 series – and will notably cost higher than the current one. The current flagship model of BMW, the 760Li Excellence, was debuted at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and will go on sale in the coming months. The market is still unclear about the name of the new range but it is for sure that the new range will not have the extended wheelbase formula similar to the Mercedes Maybach. This gives sufficient hint towards a new crossover and a ultra-luxury in make.

A small preview of this ultra-luxury premium range is likely to be seen in the 7-series Centennial Edition that is expected to be showcased in the honor of BMW’s 100th anniversary later this year. The new range is also expected to bridge the gap between Rolls-Royce and BMW.
