Bugatti DIVO India
Bugatti DIVO is a specially commissioned HyperCar, it is a result of making the most outrageous bespoke coachbuilding body - is a continuation of coachbuilding heritage from the 30s and 40s. Bugatti DIVO is a modern day interpretation of What Bugatti used to do in the past. Under this outrageous bespoke Carbon Fibre body is a potent 8.0-Litre Quad-Turbocharged W16 engine punching out 1500PS / 1489BHP of power at 6700 RPM and 1600NM of torque at 2000 - 6000 RPM sending the power to all four wheels via HALDEX intelligent all wheels drive system. The 7-Speed DSG Dual clutch Automatic Transmission is recalibrated and to make for an agile machine. Bugatti Automobili claims that with the performance on tap, Bugatti DIVO has lapped the NARDO handling circuit 8 seconds faster than the standard Bugatti Chiron. Bugatti Automobili is only making 40 units of DIVO but there is a weird condition over it which is, you have to own a standard Bugatti Chiron first inorder to pass the eligibility criteria. Now that's a great marketing trick. Bugatti Automobili has priced the Bugatti DIVO as $5.8million - making it the most series production HyperCar available in the market and despite carrying the unreal price tag, they've all been sold before even Bugatti took the wrap-off officially. There are many Indian billionaires who owns Bugatti Chiron at a first place and if someone has graced with a built-slot on one, they’ve decided to bring it to India - the local price will calculates at unbelievable Rs 137.60 crore considering the US Dollar exchange rates in Jan 2021 and higher import duties on Completely Built-Up Units (CBU).
Bugatti DIVO Features
Bugatti DIVO is specially commissioned bespoke carbon fibre bodied paying tribute to Bugatti’s tradition of coach-building bodies back from the 20s and 30s. Bugatti DIVO is made for corners with its increased Camber and recalibrated steering ratios makes for a sharper and agile steering input. At front is a resized Bugatti’s iconic horseshoe grille which is wider and lower compared to the grilles found on other Bugatti models. Front bumper is redesigned with a larger front air intake radiator grille that sucks more air than the conventional Bugatti models. Side contours are redesigned and made sharper to manage air as efficiently as possible. Front luggage compartment has been omitted for weight saving measures and air is fed through the front grille and exit from the nose trails over the front hood making it more stable at high speeds by generating more downforce than conventional Bugatti Chiron. Headlights are all new with LED projector setup as a main beam and redesigned LED daytime running lamp reminiscent of letter “D” denoting the model “DIVO” that pays tribute to french racing driver and a 2-times winner of Targa Florio - Albert Divo. Wheel arches are aggressive and for the very first time carbon fibre louvers have been introduced to exit out swole air from the wheel arches. Wheels are lighter and all-new measuring 20-inch size at front are the forged alloy wheels in satin finish specifically developed for the Bugatti DIVO comes with the softer compound Michelin Pilot Sport track tires measuring 285/30 R20 at front and rear features a bigger 21-inch size with even beefier tire profile measuring at 355/25 R21 tires which one of the widest tire ever to be featured in series production super sports car. Suspension setup is independent lightweight aluminium arm double wishbone setup with adaptive damping that works in conjunction to the 4-driving modes. Rear axle also features a double wishbone aluminium arm suspension setup with adaptive damping system. Braking system is one of the best and disc size one of the largest ever to be fitted on a super sports car. Front axle features a 420mm Carbon Silicon Carbide Disc Brake with titanium brake pad material inside 8-Piston calipers that stops this 2-tonne engineering marvel from 100kmph to standstill in a couple of seconds. Rear axle features a 400mm Carbon Silicon Carbide Disc Brakes with 6-Piston Calipers including titanium brake pad material, these rear brake disc sizes are also the largest disc size ever to be featured in the rear axle. Side profile features a redesigned C-section that channels out air towards the upper air intake and side skirts are made wider and aggressive with vnets toward the either ends that channels and smoothes out the air and feeds it in the lower air intake. The Central spine is intact and made more sharper and comes finished in contrast colour finish. The roof of the car features a big NACA duct that feeds the air from the roof and smooths it out and feeds directly to the rear engine bay which features in exposed carbon fibre finish,the central fin travels towards the rear and meets around the the double layered carbon fibre active rear wing which is lighter and spreads through larger surface area compared to conventional active rear wing featured in other Bugatti Chirons models. Rear profile is as aggressive as the front with new introduced tail lights made out of OLED which are lighter and give it the sharper look. Rear diffuser is redesigned and available as a all-new body part for the special edition model. It is aggressive with a larger profile and helps to generate more downforce than the conventional diffuser. Quad square exhaust tips come courtesy of the new specially developed titanium exhaust system which is not only louder but it gives a very different sound compared to titanium exhaust system features in Bugatti Chiron Sport.
Interiors can be customised in any way, each Bugatti DIVO is a heavily customised vehicle that hits the road. As standard the interiors are featured in a blend of leather and alcantara. Steering wheel is a multifunctional electrically assisted unit wrapped in leather and gives you the flexibility to adjust it for reach and rake. Alcantara sport steering wheels and a blend of Carbon fibre/ leather steering wheel with 12 o-clock marker can be equipped at an additional cost. Instrument cluster is a mix of big analog speedo-meter crafted from a single piece of aluminium and that speedometer reads to 500kmph which is also industry first. Either side of the analogue dial is a dual high-definition fully digital displays where left side display shows the driver oriented vehicle information like RPM meter, fuel gauge, trip meters, engine oil temperature and more where right side display acts like a digital infotainment display that works in conjunction to high-performance high-end surround sound system specially commissioned for Bugatti and it is made by ACCUTON. This infotainment display also displays the 3D maps which comes as a welcome standard feature from GPS navigation systems. Centre console is made cluster free and there is a beautiful uninterrupted aluminium strip flows over the dashboard which features 4-circular dials that works to control the automatic climate control system, fan speed and temperature speed, air flow passage and it can also be used to control the seat heating which comes as a standard fitment list. The central C-section retains inside the Bugatti DIVO just like the other Bugatti Chiron variants. This Central C-section acts like an ambient lighting strip which is the longest uninterrupted LED strip ever to be featured in a series production super sports car. This central C-section is a defining character of the interior and it separates the driver zone and passenger zone. Front seats are electrically assisted sport seats which come with 4-way lumbar adjustability, seat heating and come with visible carbon fibre back seats finishes. Most of the owners opted for the dual tone seat finish like the display car is customised very uniquely where driver zone finished in french racing blue colour and passenger zone is finished in grey that gives contrast colour way to the driver zone. The driver zone is the most interactive zone so it is finished in brighter racing colour and the passenger zone is made in a way it doesn't interrupt the driver while he/she is enjoying the most driver oriented super sports car made by Bugatti.
