This means that the new third generation Polo R WRC will be 35kgs lighter than the current model and will be more powerful, faster and wider with more aerodynamic to give the car the much needed speed and performance. The development of the next-gen VW Polo R WRC started back in summer 2015 and now has moved towards its final phase of development.

The upcoming version will be powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol powermill that is designed to churn out a maximum power output of 373bhp that is much higher than the 314bhp output of the current one.

Apart from the engine, the design too has been tweaked by providing the new offspring with larger rear wing and broader front spoiler. The enhanced power is credited to the availability of the wider air restrictors that measures 36mm as compared to the old ones having a width of 33mm.

John Hennessey, the founder of Hennessey Performance Engineering, overwhelmed with the achievement and record, said,< em class="dimText" “2016 marks the 25th anniversary of Hennessey Performance and I thought that this would be a special way to celebrate 25 years of making fast cars faster. I’ve wanted to test the top speed of our Venom GT Spyder, without the roof, ever since our coupe ran 435 km/h mph on the Space Shuttle landing runway at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in 2014. This was a great way to validate the technical excellence of our car which includes high-speed stability with an open roof.”

In the next-gen Volkswagen Polo R WRC the electronic center differential can be used to transmit the power. Also the technical components of the car have already gone through several tests but it is expected that the company might change the appearance of the sports car ahead of the 2017 Rally Monte Carlo going to be organized in the month of 2017.
