General Motors recently introduced the 2022 GMC Hummer EV, with ‘First Edition' models scheduled to be shipped to consumers by late-2021. This truck has a lot to sell, from outstanding off-road dynamics to comfort and luxury. With GMC referring to this vehicle as a "Supertruck," expect to see impressive power and torque figures. This EV is with a 200kWh hybrid system and has ⅔ motors with 20-module Ultim battery. The use of an ultium battery is another one of a kind first of GMC. The Hummer EV certainly lives up to its name, with a maximum power of 1,000 horsepower and a peak torque of 15,592 Nm. It's worth noting that this torque figure is measured at the wheel, rather than the output shaft, as most carmakers do. The drivetrain consists of three electric motors, one of which drives the front wheels and the other two of which drive the rear wheels, essentially making this a four-wheel-drive vehicle. The vehicle can accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph (96 kmph) in just three seconds and has a claimed driving range of up to 350 miles (almost 560 km). The current Hummer upholds the tradition of the previous model by providing outstanding off-road capabilities. It comes standard with massive 35-inch tyres, a 44-degree approach angle and a 34-degree departure angle in standard driving mode, and a 32-inch water wading depth.The electric pickup also has four-wheel steering and a 'crab' mode that allows it to drive diagonally sideways! There are also up to 18 cameras available, including four underbody cameras for terrain monitoring. The active air suspension can also boost the ride height by 6 inches.The GMC Hummer EV, like the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco, has a few removable body panels and roof which features moonroof as standard, when people are out in the wild, they will be able to enjoy an open-air experience. Since the roof panels are translucent, like a giant sunroof, you can enjoy the view of the sky even when the roof is in place.The new GMC Hummer EV is a functional vehicle as well. Since the battery is located at the bottom of the car (protected by bash plates), there is enough room in the front for an additional trunk! The removable roof panel can be stowed here or used as an extra trunk for groceries and other products. 

2022 Hummer EV Pickup truck is the first in-line model under the Electric range of Hummer. The electric battery set sits in the ground to improve the centre of gravity and for optimal weight balance. Hummer EV pickup uses a 200kWh lithium ion battery pack which is based on 800V DCFC architecture for fast charging. There is 3motors/20module or 2motor/16module setup which makes for electric four wheel drive setup and electric two wheel drive setup. It utilizes the open top rear boot space with foldable rear hatch that features a foldable centre step and a rubberised floor finish for added usability. It is capable of producing upto 1000Ps max power and 15592NM max torque, the four wheel drive model is capable of accelerating from 0-100kmph in 3.5sec. It will be available in a total of 4 variants where the limited edition, 2022 Hummer EV Edition 1 is priced at $112,595 and the base Hummer EV is planned in spring 2024 as 2024 model year which is priced at $79,995.

2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup Features

Entertainment display is an all-new 13.4-inch high definition touchscreen unit which comes paired with 14 speakers BOSE Audio System, all the connectivity and convenience features includes Apple CarPlat, Android Auto, GPS Navigation System, Enhanced voice control, Bluetooth connectivity for wireless music streaming, multiple media input ports - this all can be toggled thorough rotary dial with handwriting recognition. Front cabin features luxurious electric front seats with memory and heated function features as standard. Industry leading features include Infinity roof with removable transparent sky panels for the open top experience, power retractable rear glass windshield with power tonneau cover, MultiPro tailgate all come as a part of standard equipment list. For added capability, Off-Roading package can be equipped as a part of optional extra which replaces the standard 22-inch alloy wheels with 18-inch wheels which comes wrapped with specially made 35-inch GoodYear Wrangler Territory multipurpose off-road tires setup. Other equipment includes - underbody armor, rock sliders, underbody multiple cameras which can provide as high as 18 different camera views which is again an industry leading feature. Standard suspension setup is replaced by adaptive air suspension with Extract Mode capability, segment exclusive 4-wheel steering system with CrabWalk diagonal-drive functionality. Hummer EV Pickup is expected to have industry best DC charging capability, capable of charging from all-new 350-kilowatt high output DC fast charging public stations. A new automatic lane changing feature is introduced where the system can determine when a lane change is optimal and it initiates the maneuver while following signaling protocol. 

2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup variants

GMC has announced four different variants for all-new Hummer EV Pickup: First will be a Hummer EV Edition 1 which will be a limited run variant - priced at $112,595. Second variant is Hummer EV 3x planned for fall-2022 and priced at $99,995, third variant is Hummer EV 2x will hit the market by spring 2023 where prices are set as $89,995. Fourth and base Hummer EV variant is planned for Spring 2024 which is priced at $79,995.
