The weekend went pretty much exotic for car aficionados for whom motor shows work as a rejuvenating element. Why? Well the ongoing 2016 Paris Motor Show has served itself as the hot tempting dish that has caught everyone’s attention, especially with the awaited launches from marques such as Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Audi and few more. The automakers around the globe left no stone unturned to make their product the talk of the show. Right from top premium carmakers to the mid-range brands namely Renault, Suzuki, Hyundai, Nissan et al, every automobile manufacturer tried hard on their luck.
So let’s dive into the alluring world of luxury on four wheels and check out which premium beauties have seen their light of the day and will be hitting the market sooner or later. There is no particular manner in which the models are listed:
Showcasing the fourth plug-in hybrid its portfolio, the German premium carmaker lit fire at the ongoing 2016 Paris Motor Show with its GLC 350e Plug-in Hybrid. The automaker revealed its plan of bringing all the four plug-in hybrids to the Indian soil where the recently unveiled GLC 350e will supposedly be the strong contender. The other members in the plug-in hybrid range include the GLE 550e SUV, S550e and C350e sedans. With the GLC 350e in the line, Mercedes-Benz matches the 4 plug-in hybrids in BMW’s portfolio.
The GLC 350e SUV comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder mated to an 8.7KwH lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor. The engine is capable of churning out a massive power of 320bhp and a top torque of 560Nm.
Hold your horses as the second generation of the ambitious Audi Q5 SUV is all set ready to cruise the tough terrains. The premium SUV from the house of Audi has become more technical and performance-oriented. The underwhelming design might play the role of shattering your expectations but when it comes to the deliverance, the car will own your heart. It will feature a 2.0-litre V6 engine in petrol and diesel options. India can expect the availability of Audi Q5 somewhere during the 2018 Auto Expo, whereas UK will soon get the hands-on of the car early next year.
Land Rover – the name is enough to prove the ruggedness. The 5th generation of one of the toughest SUVs in the world, Land Rover Discovery, made its debut at the ongoing 2016 Paris Motor Show. The capable SUV has now become more intentionally premium and luxurious without leaving its basic characteristics of an off-roader. Making a significant shift on looks to attract more prospective buyers, the new 2017 Land Rover Discovery carries over the legacy of its ancestors with stepped roof and an asymmetrical design.
The off-roader has shed off a major part of its weight by weighing 480kgs lesser than its predecessor. With this, the new model becomes the lightest Discovery model till yet. It will come in 3.0-litre V6 supercharged and turbocharged diesel engine options.
Every motor show is tasteless if there isn’t any hypercar or supercar on podium and what will be the better treat to eyes than witnessing 2 Ferrari super models, each trying to outdo the other. LaFerrari Aperta and GTC4 Lusso T are the two Ferrari supercars that won the hearts of many with their classic look.
The $2 million worth Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta hybrid sportscar will be produced in a count of 200 units and only some carefully selected clients will get the chance to become the proud owner of this convertible. Additional nine units will be made for company use only, which will be used during the company’s 70th anniversary celebrations next year. So no matter how rich you are, you can’t buy this Ferrari if you are not among those lucky clients.
Again to be available in limited numbers of 499 units, the next creation of the Italian premium car is already sold out before it even hit the dais at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The company unveiled the images and specs of both the models along with its scheduled date of unveiling ahead of the Motor Show. The immense trust of die-hard Ferrari fans on its product led all the units of GTC4 Lusso “Sold Outâ€, like its sibling, LaFerrari Aperta.
The sporty coupe is powered by a 3.9-litre V8 turbo powermill, the engine that belong to the family powering the California T and 488 GTB. The engine churns out impressive figures of 601PS @7,500rpm and 760Nm, @3,000-5,250rpm for power and torque, respectively.

The company might also announce it’s another production, code-named LaFerrari Spider during the Paris Motor Show 2016, which is an open-top beauty to be produced in a limited count of 499 units. To your disappointment, this model too bears the tag of “SOLD OUTâ€.
