Finally the Mercedes-Benz SUV has received its first update in India since its launch in 2015. The highly acclaimed Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 'Edition 463' has been launched in India at a whopping price of Rs. 2.17 crore (ex-showroom, Pune). Along with the SUV, the German carmaker has also launched the AMG GLS 63 at a price of Rs. 1.58 crore (ex-showroom, Pune). Both the cars have been listed on Mercedes-Benz India website.

Coming back to the AMG G 63 'Edition 463', the 463 label defines the model code (W463) for the G-Class. This legendary SUV draws energy from a V8 5.5-litre petrol mill and generates a power of 571PS along with a torque of 760Nm. Sending power to the wheels is the AMG Speedshift Plus 7-speed automatic tranny and the SUV can sprint from 0-100Kmph in 5.4 seconds. The top speed noted is 210Kmph. Weighing more than 2.5 tons, this robust piece of marvel can tow a vehicle weighing up to 3.5 tons.

The Edition 463 is enveloped in a stainless-steel underbody guard and is loaded with 21-inch matte black alloy wheels having AMG sports strips. No major changes could be noticed on the outer body except the boxy design. From the inside, black designo leather envelopes the single-tone dashboard. The company has made sure to make a match of the seat color with the door handles, handbrake and armrest.

The company will offer the Edition 463 to select customers through direct import. Mercedes is also expected to launch the next-gen G-Class next year.

Beside Edition 463, Mercedes-Benz has also launched the AMG GLS 63, which is one of the quickest SUVs among its rivals and can cover 0-100Kmph mark in only 4.6 seconds. It is powered by a V8 BITURBO 5.5-litre petrol motor that churns out a max power and torque of 584.6PS and 760Nm, respectively. The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all the wheels, splitting the torque into a ratio of 40:60 between rear and front axles.

Designed for those who want performance, sportiness, luxury and style in one vehicle, the AMG GLS 63 comes with AMG Ride Control Sports Suspension that gives comfort along with high-level dynamics.

The company has provided high quality interior to the SUV along with panoramic sunroof, red brake calipers, 21-inch alloy wheels and AMG body styling. As the GLS 463 is launched under the 'Designo' platform of the German marque, the customers will get lot of customization options and can personalize their SUV as per their own need and taste.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GLS 63 will compete against the likes of Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and Porsche Cayenne.
