The whole English Language falls short when describing the sensation of “acquainting†oneself with the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport and its 16-cylinder, eight-liter engine. The force is so violent that the mind becomes blank, time and space becomes distorted in a way that only the astronauts during the liftoffs or the Formulae1 drivers while leaving the grid can understand. You will feel as if you are having an out of the body experience or being sucked by the jet plane.
Bugatti Veyron’s birth wasn’t an easy one; it came into existence because of a dream to provide the world with the car that had 1000bhp, cost 1 million euros and could do over 400Km/h.
The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport’s seven-gear, twin-clutch gearbox is the first to master comparably high torque values. With 16 cylinders, a combined capacity of 8 litres, 4 valves per cylinder and four turbo chargers, the Grand Sport’s engine is the most powerful ever to be built into a production vehicle. The car not only excels in acceleration but also in the braking system from “Faster to Full-Stopâ€, i.e. from 100 to 0 Km/h in 2.3 seconds  and less than 10 seconds from 407 to a full standstill.  At velocities exceeding 200 km/h, the rear spoiler serves as additional air brake. Activated by the brake pedal, the spoiler shoots up and allows the car to come to a full stop.
The car catches 0-100 Km/h in 2.7 seconds, it has written history in the automotive industry by reaching to such high performance values. The technical equipment of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport is in a class of its own, delivering unforgettable sound and comfort at any speed, even with the top open. The audio system “Pucciniâ€, designed especially for a convertible car, features a digital signal processor as well as a series of interfaces for numerous external devices, including the iPod.
The Grand Sport with its roof off adds an ultimate aspect to the driving experience as the engines and the air intakes are inches away from your head and the Turbos greedily gurgling away, a constant reminder that you are piloting something between a plane, a college education and a Formula 1 car.
The challenge that Bugatti took to develop a roadster that would unite previously unattained features in one exceptional vehicle was exceptionally attained.
