“The secret to a rich life is to have more beginnings than endings”
Mansions, private islands, boats, yachts, fancy cars, you name a luxury possession and they have it! Well, it’s their accomplishment in their respective fields that have earned them the opulent status they are enjoying. For them, nothing in the world seems impossible to achieve, and here, please let’s stick to the materialistic world only as it’s not the right place to discuss spirituality.
Carrying the list forward that we were discussing the day before, it’s time to bring in the other riches of the list, though in a different manner. Now let’s not focus on the overseas billionaires but the ones who have made us Indians feel proud. Here are the top 5 billionaires across the nation and the vehicles they own:
Mukesh Ambani (NW – $19.3 Billion)
If Dhirubhai Ambani would have been alive by now, the Reliance industry would have created the history by being at number one position in the top 10 richest billionaires of the world list with a combined net worth of $85 billion. It’s not that Mukesh and Anil Ambani don’t have that zeal and business tactics in them; it’s just that they separated their ways soon after their father took his final abode.
Coming back to reality, rumors say that the Ambanis have a fleet of 168 premium cars (wow! That’s sound like a huge figure). The ones that Mukesh Ambani loves to drive include all Mercedes-Benz’s products and that too tailor-made.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Mercedes-Benz SL500 and Mercedes Maybach 62 are among his favorites. Don’t get swoon away after we tell you that Mukesh is also the owner of 3 jets, world’s most expensive house and a yacht.
Azim Premji (NW – $15 Billion)
The chairman of the country’s biggest public trading company, Wipro, is a simple man in terms of living and doesn’t feel like displaying his wealth in the form of super luxury cars, like other riches do. He rather prefers donating his money for the good cause of charity. According to statistics, Azim Premji is not the second richest billionaire of India as this position belongs to Dilip Shanghvi, the founder of Sun Pharmaceuticals. But being very secretive about his personal life, there is almost no information available about the cars that Dilip owns, so we have to make a leap jump to the third position, the one where Mr. Premji sits.
The first car that Azim Premji had was a Ford Escort, which he used for almost nine years before he brought a sedan from Toyota, Corolla, to replace the older one. Now comes a shocking revelation! Azim bought a second hand Mercedes-Benz E-Class from one of his employees to replace the Corolla.
Hinduja Family (NW – $14.5 Billion)
The four brothers Srichand, Gopichand, Prakash and Ashok are the four pillars of Hinduja group who spread the root of the business in every possible dimension and gave birth to the highly diversified group. Right from Ashok Leyland Ltd. (automobile) to IndusInd Bank (financial), Hinduja brothers have left no stone unturned to rule the roost.
As far as their choice in terms of automobile is concerned, they seem to be big fans of Aston Martins. One of their Aston Martins is the one that won the Le Mans race in India – the Aston Martin Vantage GTE Endurance Race car.
Pallonji Mistry (NW – $12.4 Billion)
Like Dilip Shanghvi, the life of Pallonji Mistry from the very famous Shapoorji Pallonji Group, too revolves around mystery. Not much is available to the public about his likes and dislikes so finding the car he loves to drive or being chauffeured in is like an impossible task until you have connected sources (wink). Well all we know about this simple living high thinking man is that he shares a special liking for SUVs.
Laxmi Nivas Mittal (NW – $8.4 Billion)
Who doesn’t the chairman of ArcelorMittal, the world’s biggest steel manufacturing company? Laxmi Nivas Mittal is a man known for his smart business sense and of course by the huge number of houses and bungalows he has all across the world.
Well this man of steel owns a fleet of 20 cars that ranges from BMW to Mercedes-Benz but the man caught the eyeballs through his luxurious vanity van that gives a tough competition to the one designed by DC for Shahrukh Khan. The prized possessions of the Mittals include Porsche Boxster, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, a jet, luxury bus and 2 luxurious yachts.
The countdown has finally come to an end but with a note of self-realization. We all have that caliber and thrust inside us to do something extraordinary like these giants have done in their lives. All we need to do is – realize our strengths and hit the target just right there!
