Porsche 911 Carrera is the entry-level variant in the world of Porsche’s iconic 911 sports car range in India. All the Porsche 911 Sports cars are powered by a rear mounted engine, in this case this has a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged Flat 6 engine which is producing 385Ps / 379BHP power at peak 6500 RPM and 450Nm torque between 1950 to 5000 RPM. Rear wheel drive nature is complemented by one of the best dual clutch automatic gearboxes in business, Porsche India has refined this transmission for this 992 series of 911 Sports cars and added one more gear making it a 8-Speed PDK transmission rather than the 7-Speed which was used in the last generation Porsche 911. This makes for an 0-100kmph acceleration in 4.2 sec with launch control and it will accelerate until 293kmph top speed is achieved. Porsche 911 Carrera comes with a wider body style as standard and there is no option to get the narrower body Porsche 911 Carrera as before. At front it has opted for the famous fascia with updated All-LED headlight setup as standard with 4-point LED daytime running lamps, adaptive LED headlamps with PDLS and Matrix LED headlamps with PDLS Plus can be opted by paying extra. Front air flaps on either side of the redesigned front bumper have a pair of active air flaps which feeds cool air in the radiators up front. Since it is powered by a rear mounted engine, Porsche 911 Carrera features 132 litres luggage space in the front compartment. Side profile is clean, air flows without any interruption at the side, it features a wider rear haunches to accommodate beefier tires and wider rear track compared to the front. As standard Porsche 911 Carrera is sitting on the staggered setup measuring at 19-inch alloy wheels at front with 235/40 R19 tires at front and 20-inch alloy wheels at the back with 295/35 R20 tires at the back. As standard it comes with bright silver finished alloy wheels, whereas high-gloss black or matte black finish along with bigger size alloy wheels can be equipped as a part of optional extras. Braking performance is impressive with the use of ventilated cross drilled vented steel disc rotors at front and back, measuring at 330mm with 4-piston calipers on both the axles. Rear profile is the business end of this newly updated sports car, rear end is the profile from which you can distinguish it from the last generation Porsche 911. It has got the active rear spoiler which occupies the entire width of this sports car, it opens up automatically when rolling speed passes the three digit mark to generate downforce which helps in high speed stability and in cornering agility. It generates the much needed downforce which is needed to keep the rear end planted when traveling at high speeds. Rear tail light setup is all-new and looks reminiscent to the other Porsche models available in India. It has got a slimmer profile with 4-pot LED tail light setup with a continuous LED light strip at the centre, underneath marks the placement for the PORSCHE monogram. Rear bumper neatly houses the rear parking sensors which is a part of standard fitment, rear oval shaped exhaust tailpipe comes courtesy to the stainless steel exhaust system which is standard whereas you can opted to equip your sports car with active sports exhaust system which gives more loud and bassier sound - at an additional cost. 

Interiors are very well built, everything is neatly put together in Porsche interiors. It uses leather upholstery as standard where as interiors can either be decorated in the dual tone leather upholstery or in alcantara upholstery both options can be ticked while specing the car and it will add obnoxious amount of extra cost over and above the Rs 1.63 cr price tag carried by the base Porsche 911 Carrera model. Driver zone comprises an old big analog tachometer followed by a dual 7-inch high definition TFT display. Multifunctional leather wrap steering wheel is an electrically assisted unit which weighs beautifully as speed rises. These steering wheels can be manually adjusted for reach and rake, comes with a steering wheel mounted pair of paddle shifters for the manual use of 8-Speed PDK automatic transmission. Porsche 911 Carrera is very practical from the inside by offering 2+2 seating configuration, front cabin features a 4-way electrically adjusted sport seat with electric backrest reclining and height adjustment and manual adjustment for fore/aft adjustment.
