Porsche 718 Boxster India

Porsche 718 Boxster is the convertible version based on the Porsche 718 Cayman. It features a soft-top electrically operable roof mechanism which can be folded up or down while cruising at a speed upto 50kmph. Porsche 718 Boxster is powered by a rear mid-mounted 2.0-litre turbocharged flat 4 engine that punches out 300PS / 297BHP power at 6500 RPM and 380NM torque from 2050 to 4500 rpm. Power is going to rear wheels only and controlled via 7-Speed automatic PDK transmission. The performance figures stood at 4.9sec for 0-100kmph when equipped with optional Sports Chrono Package. The top speed stood at 275kmph, same as its coupe sibling. This sports convertible is priced at Rs 89.46 lakh ex-showroom India before options.

Porsche 718 Boxster comes with a pair of LED Automatic headlight setup with Porsche Dynamic Lighting System as standard whereas LED main beam automatic headlight with auto high beam assist and Matrix LED headlight with Porsche Dynamic Lighting System Plus (PDLS Plus) can be equipped as part of optional extras. Front bumper is redesigned and features a bigger and angular air intake on either side which feeds air directly to the radiator grill behind the bumper. Front lip is made out of black plastic which makes it easier to replace when it gets scratches. Side profile features frameless doors and big air intake on the rear quarter panel that directly feeds cool air to the rear mid mounted engine. Outside rear view mirror gets manual retraction and electrically operation as standard whereas electrically retractable and adjustable outside rear view mirror can be upgraded by paying additional extras. Porsche 718 Boxster is sitting on the 18-inch silver finish dual arm spoke alloy wheels as standard with mixed tire profiles front and rear. Blacked out finish, bigger 19-inch alloy wheels setup or 20-inch 911 Turbo style light alloy wheels can be equipped as a part of optional extras. Braking setup is taken care of  by the steel rotors as standard whereas Porsche Performance braking system or the Porsche Carbon Composite Braking System can be equipped as a part of optional extra. Multilayer fabric roof can be stowed away in the rear bootlid area or it can be put back-on again electrically in 17sec while traveling up to a speed of 50kmph. Rear profile is dominated by a newly introduced pair of LED tail lights along with angular exhaust pipe exited from the bumper comes courtesy to the stainless steel exhaust system as standard whereas Active Valve exhaust system can be upgraded as a part of optional extras. 

Interiors are as bit luxurious as any other Porsche models in India. Everything is beautifully laid out in a very sophisticated manner, nothing looks out of place, everything is just a touch distance away from the driver. Driver side zone comprises multifunctional leather wrapped sports steering wheels which comes with a pair of aluminum paddle shifters. This steering wheel is an electrically assisted unit which can be adjusted for reach and rake - manually for the best driver position. Instrument cluster comprises an old school analog tachometer with dual TFT digital displays - where the left display shows the mechanical information and right side display shows the vehicle oriented driver information. 2-Zone automatic climate control system, cup holders, 6-airbags, leather front armrest with storage and media inputs, hi-fi loudspeaker system with 10 speakers, touchscreen entertainment display, 2-way electric front sport seats with manual fore/aft movement, brushed aluminium inlays, frameless doors, 4-airbags, traction control system, brake assist, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic brakeforce distribution, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control all comes as a part of standard equipment list. 8-Way Electric Sport Seats, 18-way Electric Adaptive Sports Seat Plus, heated and ventilated seats, BOSE surround sound system, BURMESTER Sound System, Reversing camera with guidance, carbon fibre interior inlays, wooden interior inlays, Apple CarPlay, GPS Navigation System, head up display, Sports Chrono Package with driving modes, auto dimming outside rear view mirror, memory seats, alcantara headliner can be equipped as a part of optional extras.
